Ten Signs You Have A Shoe Obsession!

1. When putting together an outfit you start from the shoes!
Your thought process goes like this: ‘these shoes are perfect for tonight, now what clothes would go with them?’. You even do that when you are in a clothes shop.

2. You have at least one pair you bought just to look at!
I know you think that some day you will wear them, but we both know you won’t. You will also not wear that pair you are refusing to throw away. You know exactly which one I’m talking about!

3. You have stopped people in the street to ask where their shoes are from!
They probably thought you were weird but hey, you liked their shoes so that’s a compliment, right?

4. You repeatedly post or mention shoe quotes!
Some of them include: ‘Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world’ and ‘Cinderella is proof that a pair of shoes can change your life’. Stop it! Now!

5. You have more shoes than anyone you know!
And you want even more! You know you can only wear one pair at a time, right?

6. One of your biggest dreams is to own a pair of Louboutins!
It’s the red soles, I get it. I want a pair as well.

7. A bookcase is just shelf space to display shoes!
On the odd occasion you own any actual books, they are also about shoes.

8. Most of your money is spent on shoes!
Even if you don’t need them.

9. You insist you need them!
It doesn’t matter if you just bought a pair that looks just like them, you also need the ones that are on the shop window.

10. If you don’t buy the shoes you will keep thinking about them.
All week. Every day. Every hour. Every moment! SHOES! Yes, that is why I’m saying you are obsessed. Because they will haunt you until they become yours. And they will become yours because there’s no point stressing so much over a pair of shoes. ‘Life is short. Buy the shoes.’ Another one of those quotes I mentioned before. See my point now?

Bonus points if you have talked about any pair as ‘my precious’ or generally refer to them as ‘my babies’!

For The Sephora Kids And Their Parents - A poem about growing up

When we were young we wore pound shop blue eyeshadow shared peel off nail polish in the playground and sucked red lollipops to stain our lips. When we were young our value was measured in Diesel and Longchamp and you could not join the cool kids if you did not share their body type. When we were young we had to return expensive gifts  to make the money go further; my mother said "I don't deserve designer clothes" and I carried the wound for decades. Now that we're old  we take our kids for shopping sprees we give them all their mind dreams fulfil not theirs, but our old needs. When they get old will they be filled with gratitude, or are we, in turn, getting it wrong and raising broken kids with attitude?
